First opened in the 1940s, the Rochester Art Center has steadily developed into one of the top regional showcases for contemporary art appreciation and arts education. The unique experiences of minorities living in the United States is one major focus in the art displayed, shown through many styles and media. It further encourages the arts through various workshops and classes for children and adults. Recently moved into a new facility, the center sits downtown, west across the river from Mayo Memorial Park.
